First - why so many 5⭐️ reviews? Answer: they bombard you with review requests as soon as the service gets done. No chance to really see how the car is performing at the time when they requested a review. Why my 1⭐️ review? TLDR: brake fluid was never added after the removal. Story Time: I went there for brakes. I wanted ceramic. It appeared they did not have ceramic pads in-stock so they had to be ordered. It was a Saturday so they weren’t thrilled (at least that’s the vibe I got). I paid for a brake fluid flush, replacement of pads, caliper service & turn Front & Rear Rotors. $599.79 after a military discount. They tell you that you may hear some break sounds that is normal as everything is adjusting. I heard sounds and I figured it was due just been replaced and but kept going after a few weeks. When it was time for my oil change and I took my car over to the Subaru dealership. I asked them to check on the brakes because they were still making some noise. That’s when I find out that my car had no brake fluid, zero, none. The subaru dealership was kind enough to call Clark automotive to inquire about this and Clark automotive said to bring it back. Of course at that point, I no longer trusted them and I no longer wanted to do any business with them. This was in 2022, so why am I writing this review now? Well, I just was cleaning out some paperwork and I found the receipt. Back then I had just moved to the area, my son was a 1 year old and my husband was deploying. It was very stressful and I did not have time to really write this review. If you see a business with thousands of reviews, when most other businesses have a few hundred, be leery of this. The way they accomplish this is by asking customers to review frequently and immediately after the work is done all of the reviews you see are not unprompted. And most of them don’t have any time from the time of service provided to any length of time to make sure that everything is good to go. Added pictures of my receipt. My technician was Ray Claudio according to my receipt. I do not recommend.
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We are genuinely sorry to hear that an experience from 2022 has remained with you in this way. Because this service took place approximately four years ago, it is difficult for us to fully investigate the circumstances today beyond the records we have from the original visit. We do, however, want to respectfully clarify one important point. Your review states that the Subaru dealership found the vehicle with “zero” brake fluid after we performed the brake service. A vehicle with no brake fluid in the hydraulic braking system would not have a functioning brake pedal or normal braking ability. Since the vehicle was driven for a period of time after the repair and later driven to the dealership, we believe there may have been some misunderstanding regarding exactly what was found or communicated at that time. As you mentioned, when the dealership contacted us in 2022, we asked that the vehicle be brought back to us so we could inspect it and address any concern. Unfortunately, we were never given that opportunity. We completely understand that you made the decision you felt was best for your family at the time, but without seeing the vehicle, we were unable to determine what had occurred. We would also like to address the mention of Ray. Ray has been a valued technician with Clarke Automotive for eight years and is a highly skilled professional whom we trust greatly. We take concerns involving any member of our team seriously, but we also feel it is important to stand behind our employees when we do not have evidence supporting an accusation of this nature. Regarding our reviews, we are very fortunate to have a large number of customers who have chosen to share their experiences with our business. We do ask customers for feedback because it helps our small, family-owned business and gives us an opportunity to learn when we fall short. We are extremely grateful for every customer who takes the time to leave us feedback, positive or negative. Even after all this time, we remain open to having a respectful conversation with you about what happened. Our goal is not to dismiss your concern, but we do believe there are parts of this account that deserve clarification.
